100% grass-fed beef and all-natural vegetables are raised on Ridenour Ranch in Yoder, WY, with cattle on pasture from birth to finish. Hay and kelp (for minerals) are the only supplements, and these are fed on pasture. Since we purchased the ranch in 1999, the beeves, pastures, and gardens have been free from pesticides, herbicides, added growth hormones, steroids, and antibiotics. All of our vegetable varieties are open pollinated or heirloom. Our methods exceed national organic standards in philosophy and practice, but we are not certified organic.

Meadow Maid Foods grass-fed beef and vegetables are available at farmers' markets in Fort Collins and Cheyenne, and our ground beef and steaks are at the Fort Collins Food Coop. Beef is also available as 1/4's, sides, and whole beeves, July through October, and is processed at a family-owned, USDA inspected, Colorado abattoir. In addition to a full line of cuts and lean ground beef, Meadow Maid Foods also carries beef organs, marrow and knuckle bones, and neck bones. At Bowers Farm we raise angus and angus cross steers. All of our steers are born here in Northern CO and are kept 100% hormone and antibiotic free. We keep them on pasture year round and supplement in the winter with grass alfalfa mix hay. Donoma farm is a 120 acre Biodynamic farm Located North East of Fort Collins. CSA shares available for pickup in Fort Collins, Boulder and Denver. We raise Chicken, Duck, Guinea and Turkey for eggs and meat on an organic certified non soy diet in a pasture grazing rotation. We raise Pigs for on organic certified non soy diet. We also raise Yak (meat), lamb (meat) and Beef cattle (meat) on pasture with a grass diet (grassfed-grass finished). All animals are raised with no hormones, no antibiotics, no growth promotors, no warehouses. We also grow a limited number of summer, fall and winter veggies biodynamically.

We get our cattle from local range-based cow-calf ranches which have never fed grain or used antibiotics and let the cattle finish their growth on our summer irrigated pastures. We move them on a daily basis, using the Holistic Management model. We do not use pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers on our pastures. We do not use hormones, antibiotics, confined feeding, or grain feeding while raising our animals. The beef are slaughtered at Steving Meats in Kersey, Colorado, a locally owned, USDA inspected small slaughter house. We sell whole, half or quarter beeves, plus variety packages and cuts to folks in Northern Colorado. Our beef is available at the Fort Collins Old Town Farmers’ Market, through Loveland Local buying co-op, online, and at our onsite farm store (check website for hours).  We also offer permaculture work-study and family-friendly tours.

Natural, grass-fed beef has been a tradition at Sylvan Dale Ranch since the 1960's when Maurice and Mayme Jessup bought their first herd of Charolais cattle. In the years that followed, they developed a breeding program of registered European bulls, most recently Saler and Gelbvieh, resulting in a unique herd well suited to the grasslands of our Rocky Mountain foothills. Our herd grazes on Ranch lands protected by perpetual conservation easements.  We manage the ecological balance of vegetation through rotational grazing by moving cattle through a series of enclosures.  This allows for intensive grazing and fertilization which stimulates re-growth and provides forage that is higher in nutritional value.

B Bar S Ranch is a family owned and operated beef cattle ranching operation with two Colorado locations in the front range of the Rocky Mountains. Our high mountain pasture in Nederland, Colorado has been family owned since 1965. In 1991, we added a second, high plains ranch south of Elizabeth, Colorado. For the past 20 years, our family had been producing clean, lean, grass-fed freezer beef for direct sales to consumers. Fed over the summer on grass in the high mountain pasture, our cattle are not given growth-enhancing hormones nor are antibiotics added to feed. They get plenty of exercise, grass, fresh water and open space. Native pasture is the primary source of energy for our beef cattle. Because our beef does not come from cattle finished on a diet of high-calorie grains, B Bar S Ranch meat is both clean and lean.
