Just wanted to tell everyone what a great class Monica Cerrado put on down in Broomfield a few weeks ago! She is such a fun teacher that the attendants ( about 50 people I'm guessing) could hardly stop asking more questions! I came back renewed with my commitment to making ferments and eating good quality eggs, meats and milk.

Monica met Sally Fallon where they both live in Washington DC (only a few blocks from my brother actually). She is one of the cooks at the WAPF conferences they have. She is very committed to getting the word out and feeding our children right. To learn more about her here is her web site:  www.simplybeingwell.com. To my surprise, she is planning to move with her family to Fort Collins!! Anyway, because of your newsletter, I was encouraged to go, so thank you and keep them coming Nancy!

How to Make Lacto-fermented Fruits and Vegetables
Tuesday, Oct 12, 7-8:30pm.

Lacto-fermented (cultured) foods have been a staple of most traditional cultures throughout the world. These foods provide vitamins, enzymes, probiotics and other beneficial nutrients that support healthy digestion and health-protective factors. Come learn how to make your own--it's easy! We'll have plenty of things to taste: cider, sauerkraut, pickles, salsa, peach chutney. (yum!)

Cost is $20/person (a portion of the proceeds will be donated to our local WAPF chapter). Bring a clean pint jar with a tight lid to take home your sauerkraut. Send Bonnie an email (or call 988-0566) right away if you're interested! Class size is limited so you'll want to reserve your spot. If you know someone who may be interested, please feel free to share this info.
